Calculates and processes payroll for all college employees and students and prepares related payroll reports in accordance with state, federal and college policies. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Prepares and verifies payroll records for all employees including Student EPAF's, Payroll Authorizations, Non-Credit Contracts and FLAC records. • Prepares and processes payroll data based on hours worked, approved pay rates and required deductions for Bi-Weekly Administrative, Faculty, Staff and Student Payrolls. • Generates reports to review wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of the payroll. Prepares and issues paychecks and direct deposit vouchers. Transmits payroll information to the bank. • Updates and distributes payroll authorization records to departments for approval. Reconciles the authorization records to ensure accurate cost accounting and audit compliance. • Prepares reports of earnings, taxes and deductions including the 941. Balances Payroll records after each Payroll. Assists in the preparation and reconciliation of college reports. • Prepares and submits monthly FRS reports. • Reports and reconciles monthly payroll deductions for employee benefits. Creates the entries to transmit Vendor payments. • Keeps payroll records and files according to College procedures. • Responds to employees and student payroll questions and corrects errors in accordance with college policy. • Coordinates and corrects payroll issues with Human Resources department. • Other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and one or more years related experience. • Supervisory Experience: The job requires no supervisory experience. • Certificates and Licenses: The job requires the employee be bonded. Responsibility for People and Property: The job has responsibility for handling approximately $2.0 million per month in payroll checks, vouchers and payments to vendors. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: This position has contact with all levels of college staff. • External Contacts: Position has contact with IRS, credit union, and vendors.
