Head Coach, Softball (Stipend) Salary: See Position Description Location: Bradenton Job Type: Full Time Department: Organized Athletics Job Number: 202300215 Closing: Continuous Visit our https://scf.edu/Administration/HumanResources/Benefits/default.asp for benefit details Job Summary The Head Coach will maintain and /or enhance every aspect of the intercollegiate softball program as part of the mission of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Annual Stipend will be $15,000.00 NOTE: Job descriptions and essential functions are subject to change due to advances in technology, utilization of workforce, and other factors which may impact the College's need to modify position requirements. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • The Head Coach is expected to play a positive role in the leadership of students-athlete and teams. • The Head Coach is expected to conduct himself/herself in a professional manner being a positive role model for his/her players, and will ensure assistant coaches and players conduct themselves in a professional manner abiding by the SCF, FCSAA and NJCAA Code of Conduct. • The Head Coach will be responsible for knowing and abiding by all SCF, FCSAA and NJCAA policies and procedures, and is expected to loyally support all policies, procedures and decisions/interpretations rendered by these agencies. • The Head Coach will be responsible for coaching, recruitment and selection of student-athletes, budgeting, scheduling of games, conducting practices and workouts, promotions, participation in state and national polls, input of statistics in a timely fashion, and public relations both on-campus and in the college district. • The Head Coach must attend all games and practices. • The Head Coach is responsible for the academic tracking, class attendance, graduation rates, matriculation rates and four-year scholarship rates for all student-athletes. • The Head Coach is responsible for participating in fund-raising projects to support intercollegiate athletics and the softball program. • The Head Coach will participate in non-athletic related college functions, as requested by the Director. • The Head Coach will assist softball athletes with finding housing for the duration of the school year. • Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, minimum of 3 years of related coaching experience at high school level or higher, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. • Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is not required. Leadership experience is preferred. • Certificates and Licenses: Possession of, or eligible to obtain, a valid Florida Driver's license and the ability to travel independently. Responsibility for People and Property: Care and maintenance of sport equipment and facility. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Position has routine contact with SCF staff, administration, faculty and students. • External Contacts: Position has frequent contact with general public, including prospective students, vendors, community members, and other athletic agencies or institutions.
