Camp Assistant, STEM Salary: $15.00 Hourly Location: Works all three Campuses Job Type: Department: Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation Job Number: 202300193 Closing: Continuous Job Summary The position of Camp Assistant assists the Camp Director and the Camp Instructor(s) with curriculum delivery, youth supervision, guidance and monitoring, and organization of daily camp activities and supplies for those activities. Manages classroom preparation and clean up including sanitization/cleaning protocols as required by the CDC and/or the local health department. Performs administrative duties and manages facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe condition. Supports activities to meet camp goals. Maintains a camp activities schedule which ensures a consistent and high-quality learning experience through rigorous camper engagement. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Supports curriculum delivery and inspires youth engagement in rigorous camp activities. • Provides youth supervision and disciplinary remediation as necessary following camp policies and procedures. • Organizes daily camp activities in an efficient and orderly manner. • Implements and manages classroom preparation and clean up. • Controls sanitization/cleaning protocols as required by the CDC/local/county health department. • Performs administrative duties to support camp activities. • Preserves facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe condition. • Leads youth activities to meet camp goals. • Provides a consistent and high-quality learning experience. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: High School Graduation/GED is required. • Supervisory Experience: Experience working with youth is preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret camp curriculum, equipment manuals and directions, SCF publications, parental communications, daily reports, and other technical documents. Ability to effectively present information to youth campers and camp staff. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate basic arithmetic - adding, subtracting, multiplication and division, and math applications including measurement, percentages, area, and volume. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to perform disciplinary remediation with youth who are having difficulty following camp classroom policies and procedures. Ability to solve problems. • Computer Skills: Microsoft office experience is preferred. Experience in Minecraft gaming software, 3D printing processes. coding and programming are helpful. Responsibility for People and Property: Helps the Camp Director and the Camp Instructor(s) in youth supervision, youth guidance and youth monitoring. Maintains the camp facilities, equipment, and supplies in working and safe condition. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with all levels of SCF STEM Camp students, parents, staff, and sponsors. • External Contacts: Contact with SCF STEM Camp visitors, and occasional SCF visitors touring SCF facilities.
