The individual is expected to exercise professionalism and civility in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students. Initial Rank and salary will be determined at the time of offer. (Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating knowledge of subject matter and using effective and innovative teaching techniques.) • Develops, maintains and promotes a positive, respectful and civil atmosphere among colleagues and members of the college-wide community to advance the mission of the college. • Performs all other duties as assigned by the proper authority. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Master's degree in Earth Science, Environmental Science, Oceanography, or Marine Biology OR a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the following subject areas: • Earth Science • Ecology • Environmental Science • Geology • Marine Biology • Meteorology • Oceanography • Physical Science Supplemental Information Safety Awareness: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota employees are expected to work diligently to maintain safe and healthful working conditions, and to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries.
