Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Assists with entering and maintaining updated computerized records for all employees and prospective employees/new hires. • Answers verbal and written reference and unemployment requests. Completes employment verifications and public student loan forgiveness within a timely manner. • Responds to routine questions from all levels of staff regarding State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Personnel Rules and Procedures. • Provides administrative support to the employee benefit function as assigned and provides support in the preparation of the Annual Benefit Fair. • Meets with new employees and processes required paperwork. Assists with new employee orientation preparation and ensures new hires enroll in benefits within the allocated time period. • Enters contract records, enrollment and termination for all employees. Ensures accurate payroll deductions and notifies employees, as appropriate, regarding changes and/or a resolution. • Assists with preparation and dissemination of annual contracts. • Provides support for routine reporting across the Human Resources Department as assigned. • Completes projects and other technical assignments as delegated by leadership within the Human Resources Department. • Provides clerical support such as invoice reconciliations, retiree benefit coordination, processing workers compensation, disability and life insurance claims, updating benefit records, tracking expenses, etc. Troubleshoots problems as they arise, with the guidance of department leadership. • Provide support to Coordinator, Talent Acquisition, as necessary, with functions such as job postings, offer letters, new hire tracking, etc. • Backup to Adjunct Coordinator and other Human Resources Specialists as needed. • Responsible for scanning documents into employee electronic personnel files, provides front desk coverage as needed, and assists other team members with projects as needed. • Assists other team members within the Human Resources Department (Human Resources Information Systems, Benefits and Talent Acquisition), and occasionally other departments, working cross functionally as a team player. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Supervisory Experience: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram/chart form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete changes in standardized situations. • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of word processing and database software, intermediate knowledge of spreadsheets, email, and Internet software. Knowledge of or ability to learn quickly in current College database and other required software. • Certificates and Licenses: Notary license or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
