Responsibilities
This role typically:
- Patrols The Ringling's 66 acres of buildings, galleries, and grounds as assigned.
- Monitor visitor activity to ensure:
- Safety of staff and visitors
- Adherence to all policies/procedures
- Protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds while guarding against theft, vandalism, and other damage
- Briefly answers guest questions with a focus on customer service and creating a welcoming environment for our visitor population.
- Conducts daily inspections of assigned areas and reports:
- Safety issues
- Damages or necessary repairs
- Water intrusion or leaks
- Assists with emergency situations by communicating with the appropriate point of contact.
- Escorting staff and guests as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to:
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ascend/descend stairs
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to hire
- Driver's permits are not allowable
Helpful
While helpful, these skills are not required to be considered for this role:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience in a museum or non-profit organization.
- Prior experience in approaching work and interaction with colleagues and/or students.
- Ability to promote a welcoming work/education environment.
- Ability to respond in a calm manner to urgent/emergency situations

Anticipated Salary Range
$15.45 per hour (28 hours a week)
Considerations
- This position is based in Sarasota, FL.
- This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) position.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
- Work Location: Sarasota FL
- This role must present a professional image in line with internal dress code.

- Set biweekly schedule that is not flexible and applicants must be available for the schedule as listed below.
- Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Week 2: Friday, Monday, and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- (8 PM clock out time on Thursdays with scheduled events)
- Eligible for $5 per hour pay additive for working special events.
