Job Summary The Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development department is seeking a Youth Enrichment Coordinator. This is a seasonal/temporary part time position. Hiring range $23-$33 hourly. The position of Youth Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the SCF youth enrichment program. The Youth Enrichment Coordinator will develop and monitor youth enrichment program activities to meet program goals. Will serve as a positive role model to program participants and staff. Will supervise the Youth Enrichment Instructors, Youth Enrichment Assistants and all youth enrichment volunteers in activities including but not limited to youth enrichment program activities, set up, clean up, transportation, field trips, guest speaker presentations, maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies, and activity scheduling maintenance to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience through rigorous program participant engagement. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Provides overall supervision of youth enrichment staff and daily activities ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience through rigorous program participant engagement. Oversees and facilitates program participant disciplinary remediation as necessary between program staff and program participants/parents. • Develops and directs program activities to meet program goals. • Manages facilities, equipment, and supplies, ensuring safe working order and quantities to accommodate class sizes. • Coordinates supplemental program activities such as field trips and guest speakers, including details for transportation, security/safety, and waivers/documentation. • Monitors the safety of program participants and program staff at all times. • Assists with promotion of the SCF youth enrichment program by ensuring documentation of program activities using traditional, digital, and electronic media/processes. • Generates participant recruitment efforts when needed. Initiates press contacts as appropriate collaborating with the Assistant Director, Lifelong Learning & Workforce Development. • Evaluates and documents the success of each youth enrichment program week through collaborative debriefings with staff, program participants, parents, sponsors, and guest speakers to ensure quality programming and support continuous improvement. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college and two or more years related experience and/or training. Prefer applicants with experience working with K-12 youth in a structured learning program. Prefer applicants with teaching experience. • Supervisory Experience: One to three years of supervisory experience, including responsibility for training and coaching is preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret texts, periodicals, journals, equipment instructions and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from program participants, parents, sponsors, SCF staff, and the public • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, chart or schedule form. • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office experience is preferred. • Certificates and Licenses: None required. Responsibility for People and Property: Oversees the camp staff in their daily camp activities with campers, parents, sponsors, and guest speakers. Maintains camp equipment, facilities and supplies in safe working order. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with all levels of SCF youth enrichment program students, parents, and staff. • External Contacts: Contact with SCF youth enrichment program visitors, sponsors, guest speakers, and occasional visitors touring SCF facilities.
