Event Description:
Manatee High School Students will be awarded three $1,000 scholarships (Essay, Oratory and Exhibit) and best overall $5,000 for their projects. Students will focus on a Communist regime and distinguish how the United States Constitutional Republic’s governance practices and treatment of its citizens differ from those of authoritarian and totalitarian states. Our special guest speaker is Jamie Arellano The “Voice of Nicaragua” who will share his experience while living under the regime of Daniel Ortega. He was a political prisoner for 13 years and recently released in February 2023.

Manatee Performing Arts Center, Main Stage 502 3rd Ave W, Bradenton, Florida 34205 Doors open at 5:30pm; Free parking across 3rd Ave W.
