The Manatee River Garden Club’s January program on the 17th from 1-2 p.m. is “The Food in Our Forests: Native Edible Plants of Southwest Florida.” The speaker, Kara Tyler-Julian, has a varied background including pest management, crop advisor, study of manatee behavior, mosquito control. She will inform the group how native plants can be used for food and landscaping.
