MARIE RICE, Oil Painter, Named September Featured Artist at Island Gallery West,

From September 1-30 MARIE RICE will exhibit her oil paintings in an exhibit entitled Glass Impressions. Marie loves how glass reflects light, distorts images, and enhances and changes colors in and around the pieces. That play of light draws her and the viewer into her works. Inspired by some of her mom's sentimental belongings, "Glass Impressions" is part of a series depicting the elegance of the '40s and '50s. The portrayal of vintage fashion accessories and vanity items, as well as classic cocktails and barware are pieces that have stood the test of time and remain in vogue today. The month-long free exhibit will be presented at Island Gallery West, an artists cooperative of 27 local artists. The gallery has been located at 5368 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach, FL on Anna Maria Island for the past 26 years. Gallery hours are 10 AM-5 PM, Mon.-Sat.
