The LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Lakewood Ranch will hold its annual Give Kids A Smile Day on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 4800 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., in Bradenton. This free event is held in association with the American Dental Association.
Give Kids A Smile provides free dental screenings for children who are not able to receive dental care elsewhere. LECOM student dentists are offering free exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments and sealants for children ages two (2) to17. Last year, 125 pediatric patients received more than $35,000 worth of dental care to. The dental students expect to serve even more children this year. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to the appointment.
