Falls Prevention Coalition

This event is dedicated to promoting health, wellness and safety among seniors in the community. The event will take place on September 22nd, 2023 from 2pm-4pm at the Braden River Branch Library. The annual Falls Prevention EXPO features an afternoon filled with valuable resources, informative workshops, and engaging activities for attendees of all ages. With a mission to prevent injuries and falls among seniors while providing essential education and information, the Manatee County falls Prevention Coalition aim to foster a safe and vibrant community for older adults. This year's EXPO offers an array of exciting features, including: Free health examination and screenings: Qualified healthcare professional will be on-site, offering complimentary health examinations and screenings to help attendee gain insights into their overall well-being. Immunizations: Attendees will have the opportunity to receive necessary immunizations, ensuring their protection against preventable disease. Falls Prevention Workshops: Expert speakers and professionals will conduct informative workshops on fall prevention, equipping attendee with practical knowledge and strategies to maintain their balance and reduce their risk of accidents. Giveaways and prizes: Numerous giveaways and prizes will be available throughout the events, adding a fun and interactive element to the EXPO. The Falls Prevention EXPO will feature esteemed guest speakers who are leaders in their respective fields: A? representative of HCA Florida Blake Hospital Trauma Services will deliver a captivating talk on Falls Prevention, shedding light on effective measures to reduce falls and related injuries. D?r. Sanjay Yathiraj, a renowned expect in Neurological Disorders, will share valuable insights into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of such conditions that commonly affect seniors. A? representative of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hsopital of Sarasota will discuss the importance of Physical Therapy and Balance and maintaining overall health and independence.
