The Freedom to Walk Foundation educates, inspires, and empowers individuals experiencing Foot Drop on how to overcome financial obstacles through fundraising efforts and to subsidize the cost of mobility devices, enabling them to Walk and Live Fulfilling, Purposeful Lives.
Foot Drop is caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles that lift the front part of the foot due to upper motor neuron injuries or conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Incomplete Spinal Cord injury, and traumatic Brain Injury.
The Bioness L300 Go is an FDA-approved functional electrical stimulation device (FES). When worn on the calf, it sends mild electrical impulses to activate the nerves and muscles in the leg, helping to lift the foot.
