With over 300 animals at the shelter facility, Manatee County Animal Services has once again reached critical capacity and is challenging the community to “Clear the Shelter” on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17. Adoption fees will be waived for all animals. Manatee County Animal Services is partnering with Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue for this special weekend. Information booths, kids’ activities and adoption support volunteers will be set up around the facility. Food trucks will be stationed near the adoption center for an outside “food court”, where families can picnic with their new furry friends. All fee-waived adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15.
