6th Annual Wellness Expo at Water’s Edge of Bradenton: Supporting “My Breast Friends 941” and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Water's Edge of Bradenton is excited to announce their 6th Annual Wellness Expo, scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The address of the expo is 2015 32nd Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205. This event is FREE to the public. There will also be FREE valet parking.

This year, we proudly support "My Breast Friends 941" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My Breast Friends 941 is a local non-profit that provides essential support to members of our community battling breast cancer. Some exciting additions to this year’s expo are Anna Maria Oyster Bar crafting special pink drinks for donation in support of My Breast Friends 941, a “think pink” photo booth where you can take pictures in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 3D Mobile Mammography doing mammograms onsite, Suncoast Blood Services accepting blood donations onsite, and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office’s “Project Drug Drop” onsite.

This year's Wellness Expo promises to be our most comprehensive yet, offering an array of activities, resources, and opportunities to promote wellness and community engagement. Explore an extensive range of health and financial exhibits, featuring over 50 of the best providers in Manatee County, including mammograms and blood donations done on-site, “Project Drug Drop”, esteemed physicians, hospitals, home health providers, financial advisors, and real estate professionals. The interactive event will feature free health screenings, hands-on demonstrations, informational wellness materials, free gifts, raffle drawings, shopping opportunities, lunch (donation), refreshments, and much more.

As part of our commitment to education and community engagement, this year's 6th Annual Wellness Expo features an insightful 3-part learning series. Attendees are encouraged to participate in one or all of these sessions, providing an opportunity for one-on-one interaction with some of Bradenton's best. Whether you're seeking inspiration, knowledge, or answers to pressing questions, the Wellness Expo's learning series has something valuable to offer.

Learning Series Schedule:

10:30 am - My Breast Friends 941: Learn More About How We Help Local Community Members Battling Breast Cancer

  • We kick off our learning series with My Breast Friends 941 in conjunction with Home Helpers Home Care of Bradenton. In this session, discover how My Breast Friends 941 actively supports our local community by spreading the power of hope and extending support that eases fears during and beyond a breast cancer diagnosis. Through shared experiences, guidance, and friendship, they create a network of strength.

11:45 am - Dr. Bhavin Patidar, Neurologist of Cerebrum HealthCare: Neurology Q&A

  • Dr. Bhavin Patidar, a distinguished Neurologist, will discuss the common neurological issues that affect seniors. This session includes an open Neurology Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights into neurological health.

1:00 pm - Dr. Mehul Patel, MD: Doctor Patel Presents Concierge Medicine

  • Join Dr. Mehul Patel, MD in conjunction with Southwest Florida Home Care, for an enlightening session on concierge medicine. Dr. Patel will discuss how concierge medicine benefits residents living in senior communities such as Water’s Edge of Bradenton. Discover how concierge medicine can save you or your loved one money, yet still offer personalized healthcare. Also learn about other great advantages of concierge medicine such as the doctor having an ability to see a patient in the patient’s home environment as well as the doctor having knowledge of the network of resources that are available at the community (i.e. other doctors/specialists, home health, home care, mobile pharmacists, etc).

New Developments for 2023:

3D Mobile Mammography onsite:
