Southwest Florida Honor Flight proudly announces its 2026 mission dates! Join us as we honor local veterans with unforgettable flights to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials. Mark your calendars and help us support the heroes who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice.
If you know a veteran who has not been on their honor flight, who lives in Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Manatee, Sarasota (or surrounding) counties, please have them complete an application (found at: www.swflhonorflight.org) and submit. Veterans fly at no-cost to them on their one-time honor flight.
There is a wait list, with priority given to WWII, Korean and veterans with a life-limiting illness.
Guardians accompany a veteran on their honored day, come from a volunteer pool of community members. There is a nominal fee, and guardians must be able to handle the rigors of the day, which include walking (approx. 5 miles, not all at once) and possibly pushing a veteran in an "honor chair" (wheelchair) at various times during the day.
Guardian applications can be found on the website: swflhonorflight.org.
